Today I saw this message from MATE Team. It seems they are buiding by them self the database. Maybe a bank swift transfer could be more efficient in that phase. Try to think also about all security aspects of an application on Internet having to manage credit card and PPIs. It's important to secure all customers data.

Dear backers, I hate to admit it, but the database is not being cooperating at the moment, so we are having a hard time finishing our how-to-use guide, as some essential details and functionality is not working the way it should. It is now 3:04 am and we have been struggling hard with it for the past many hours. We have accounting meeting at 9:30, so we have to call the shots for now and resume later today when that is done. I apologise for the delay again!

We wish we were and exception, but it is close to impossible to see what challenges you will face along the way. Additionally, we have elevated the original MATE significantly from its original state with the power of the crowd (it is now better in every possible way). We're almost there! To all US backers. The duty rate is now set to 0%. We are waiting for a reply from our accountants, but as of now – it seems to be correct. Payments can not be processed until we send out invoices from our back-end. We will start with batch 1 and batch 2 in the coming week. You will get notified by email.

Hi Seksit, Thank you for backing MATE. You will need to sign in to the database to confirm your shipping details and order. This is mandatory prior to delivery. We do it for safety reasons to ensure delivery is correct and that we have your phone nr. for track and trace purposes, so you can get notified once your MATE arrives. Best regards Christian

Hi Marc, we're working on a new update regarding delivery, when we send it we want to make sure that what we say won't change the day after, which is why it takes time to get all the needed info first. We promise that the bikes are not going to disappoint, we've spent a lot of time and effort on making sure that their quality live up to our and your expectations. We have offered refunds to those who requested it. We naturally always prefer to find an alternative, as it is a costly process.

So congratulations on joining the growing group of MATE bike owners! You are just a few steps (and one delivery) away from experiencing the joy of owning and riding your new MATE. By clicking the check box on the order confirmation page, you confirm that you have read these terms and conditions and agree to them – so please make sure you actually read these! We promise to do our best to make this as painless as possible. First, you agree that the delivery address you give us is where we will ship your MATE. Please check it carefully – now is your only chance to change it. If you don’t change it, we will automatically ship your MATE to the delivery address we have on file.

Second, based on your delivery address we will calculate your shipping costs and any taxes or import duty that will have to be paid before we can send you your MATE. The [order confirmation page or whatever the proper name is] will display these costs for you and ask you to pay them. You understand that until you pay these we cannot deliver your MATE. You also understand that if these costs are displayed in a currency that is different from the currency your debit or credit card uses, the amount you will be charged will be based on the currency conversion rate applied by your bank or charge card company applicable at the time we process your order.

We are not going to store your credit card information; only your name, telephone number, delivery address, and e-mail along with your order. We will protect all of your personal information as required by Danish law, and we will not share your information with anybody (except of course as we need to so that we can process your payment and so that you can receive your MATE). If you ask us we will also delete all of your personal information.

We will take all reasonable care to keep the details of your purchase and payment secure, but, except if we are negligent, we will not be liable for any loss you may suffer if an unauthorized third party is able to access any information you give us.

Third, once you have confirmed your delivery address and we have processed your payment for shipping costs and any taxes and import duty, we will send you an order confirmation. You agree to check this order confirmation carefully to make sure it is accurate, and to notify us immediately if it is not. We will send your order confirmation to the email address you have given us, so if you have changed email addresses since you ordered your MATE, please make sure you indicate that when you complete the order confirmation page.

Fourth, after we send you the order confirmation, we will give your MATE to a shipping company for delivery to the address you have given us. Once your MATE is in the care of the shipping company, its delivery is up to the carrier that is handling the shipment. MATE.BIKE is not responsible for any errors or delays that result after your MATE is in the shipping company’s hands. The risk of loss passes to you on the date your new MATE bike is delivered to you. IMPORTANT: Your MATE will require some assembly before it is ready to ride. We will include assembly and operation instructions in the box with your bike – they are part of your MATE.BIKE Owner’s Manual – and you agree that you will pay close attention to those instructions if you decide to assemble your new MATE yourself. You also agree to give those instructions to whoever assembles your bike if you ask someone else to do it. Note that we cannot be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury if you do not follow our assembly or operation instructions.

Your new MATE bike is covered by a limited 14-day return guarantee and a limited 2-year warranty. The terms of that guarantee and warranty are in your MATE.BIKE Owner’s Manual.

While we have attempted to anticipate all delivery costs associated with your purchase of your Mate bike, it is possible that we may have to pay additional amounts before we can bring you and your Mate together. You agree that, in addition to all estimated delivery charges, taxes, and duty associated with your Mate bike purchase, Mate may also charge your form of payment for the actual amounts paid by Mate for delivery, taxes, and duty in connection with your purchase. Mate will notify you in the event any such additional charges are assessed.
